This position is responsible for the delivery of qualitynursing care including care before, during and after procedures while patientsare in the G.I. Center. Utilizes thenursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention andevaluation) throughout a patient's stay in the G.I. Center from admission todischarge. Communicates effectively withother G.I. Center team members to ensure appropriate, timely, and professionalcare to all patients. Providesprofessional and technical skills to ensure safety, comfort, personal hygieneand the protection of patients in the provision of patient care. Responsiblefor maintaining technical and theoretical knowledge of G.I. procedures,equipment, and disease processes & treatments. Is responsible for the useof AIDET with every patient encounter and demonstrates understanding of HCAHPSand a culture of patient centered care. Reports directly to the Director of theGI Center.
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriateto the age of the patients served on the unit. Knowledge of growth anddevelopment over the life span. Knowledge of dysrhythmias and appropriateinterventions. Writes, speaks, and reads English.
Minimum of two yearsâ experience in an acutecare hospital, ACU, Medical/Surgical unit or GI lab preferred.
