In this role, you will perform a variety of duties to assist in basic to moderately complex gastrointestinal (GI) procedures including cleaning and preparing procedure rooms and equipment, furnishing instruments and supplies to provider, and assisting provider with GI procedures according to explicit instruction. You will always maintain aseptic or clean technique as appropriate as well as prepare and assist with procedural equipment, instruments, and supplies. In addition, you will assist in the maintenance and inventory of supplies and equipment in specialty area.
Six months of GI Aide experience
A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of requirements
A graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Endoscopy/procedural, high level disinfection processing experience preferred
A current Gastroenterology Technical Specialist certification with the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA)
A current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CRP/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
Demonstrated competency in GI Aide skills
Demonstrated competency and ability to assist with basic to moderately complex gastroenterology procedures
The ability to remain open to new ideas and flex to meet variable workloads
The demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, change management, customer service, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, and teamwork
