The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is assigned to telemetry monitoring at the Robley Rex VA Healthcare System, Louisville, Kentucky. A recruitment incentive is authorized for this position. The purpose of Telemetry Monitoring is to provide a mechanism for short term diagnostic cardiac telemetry monitoring of hemodynamically stable patients with non-life threatening arrhythmias that do not require intensive medical and nursing services provided in the critical care unit. 1. Patient Care/Care Planning (Critical Element) 2. Interpersonal Skills/Customer Service (Critical Element) 3. Observation, Documentation and Technical Competencies (Critical Element) 4. Maintaining a Safe and Therapeutic Environment (Critical Element) 5. Cardiac Monitoring (Critical Elements) 6. Leadership (Non - Critical Element) Each Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Health Technician/Monitor Technician working on the Telemetry Unit must successfully: 1. Complete and maintain an active Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification biannually; 2. Complete the telemetry course; and 3. Pass the arrhythmia interpretation test annually. Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts - 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 7:30 pm - 8:00 am and every other weekend. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Relocation/Recruitment Incentive: Authorized
