Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join AMG Orthopedics at Clark. The successful candidate will have experience as a Physician Assistant in an surgery setting. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist surgical cases with provider in operating room; see clinic patients independently and in conjunction with provider; perform minor office procedures including injections and aspirations; fit patients with DME; manage pre-operative and post-operative education and follow up; complete patient forms.
- Evaluates patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and gathers patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care, managing infection, aspirations, fitting DME.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- May have training in a particular medical specialty.
- Complete patient forms.
- After hours answering service phone calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- BS Degree required
- MS Degree in Physician Assistant studies required
License/Certification:
- A valid NJ PA -C License
- AAPA Certified Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
Relevant Experience:
- 0-3 years in Surgery
- Role Assignment may require specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities within one or more of the following areas: Hospitalists, Oncology, Ortho, Rehab Services, Hematology, Sports Health, Cancer Care, Corporate Health, Surgical Services, Head and Neck, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Pulmonary and Allergy, Critical Care/Trauma, Urology
