Overview

St. Luke's Health System in Meridian is seeking a 1.0 Full Time RN to join our Endoscopy team. Are you a strong Med Surg nurse looking for your next challenge in nursing? This could be a great match for you!

Schedule: 0700/0730-1800 four days a week (varied days). There is an option to work 5 days a week if that is preferred. Call is typically 1 night per week and one weekend (2 days) in an 8 week schedule. Call during the week is from 1700-0700, weekend call is 0700 Saturday through 0700 Monday (48 hours). This would be equal to approximately 1 day per week in an 8 week schedule.

Unit Summary

The Meridian Endo unit is a fast-paced unit with lots of autonomy. The RNs and other staff positions are close to the physicians, which provides a very collaborative work environment. The unit sees all adult cases that have a scope required. Duties include pre-post for Endoscopy and Pain patients, conscious sedation, and turning rooms.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Manages care of patients.
• Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
• Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
• Experience: 1+ years Endoscopy experience or 2+ years Critical Care experience (ED, SICU, MICU, TELE) preferred. Will also consider an RN with 3-5 years Med Surg/Telemetry experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
