Position Summary:
Join our team! The 10 Tower unit or "Med/Surg" unit at Deaconess is a 30 bed unit where the patient population consists of about 80% surgical and 20% medical cases. We care for a wide variety surgical patients ranging from GI, Urology and Oncology as well as the more specialized Gender Reassignments and Bariatric Weight Loss procedures. RNs here have opportunity learn more from these clinically complex cases that require critical thinking, organization, and attention to detail. We have a high patient churn so we're looking for a nurse that enjoys a fast paced environment and can work well in a team. Apply today! Crystal, Nurse Manager The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating the delivery of skilled patient care. The RN is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks. The RN, using specialized knowledge, can perform the activities of administration, supervision, delegation and evaluation of nursing practice. The responsibility cannot be avoided by accepting the orders or direction of others. This position requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgement, and skill based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral and sociological sciences, and requires critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data. The RN has continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, patient care staff, and management.
Minimum Requirements:
One year experience in Acute Care setting preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
BSN required within 3 years of start date.Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Washington
Current Health Care Provider level BLS CPR certification
