Us

St. Vincent Healthcare is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 286-bed level II trauma center has provided care in Montana and the surrounding area since 1898.

Our team is second to none, and we work well together. We have 14 ORs with 1 Hybrid Room. The Surgery Plus area preps inpatients for surgery as well as handling all outpatient lab work and pre-admission testing for elective surgeries and procedures. We also recover all Phase II outpatient surgeries and procedures.  Our cases include:

• General surgery and procedures


• Pediatric surgery and procedures


• Orthopedics and joint surgery


• Cath lab and endoscopy procedures

Your day

As a Surgery Plus Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:

• Adapt to quickly changing dynamic situations calmly and effectively


• Ability to work variable shifts Monday â“ Friday; we are open 5:30am â“ 8:30pm; our 10 or 12 hour shifts fall within those hours. No call is required


• Ability to cross train to every area including pre-admission testing, pre-op and phase II post op


• Respond to and communicate professionally with peers and providers as you perform your work


• Foster quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind


• Comply with procedural and documentation guidelines using EPIC charting software

Your experience

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

• ASN/ADN or BSN from an accredited program


• BSN required within 4 years of hire unless you have a minimum of 15 years of proven, continuous, acute care RN experience, required


• Current RN license to practice in the state of Montana


• Current BLS


• ACLS Recommended


• Two years inpatient medical surgical RN experience, preferred
