Atlantic Health System is seeking a Physician Assistant to join Orthopedics at Ridgewood. The successful candidate will function as a vital member of the orthopedic health-care team. This is a full-time position; Monday through Friday. No evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays required. Essential Job Functions:
Evaluates patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and gathers patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
Assist in surgerys.
May have training in a particular medical specialty.
Other duties as assigned.
Role assignment may require specialized knowledge, skills, and abilites within one or more of the following areas: Hospitalists, Oncology, Ortho, Rehab Services, Hematology, Sports Health, Cancer Care, Corporate Health, Surgical Services, Head and Neck, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Pulmonary and Allegry, Critical Care/Trauma, Urology
BS Degree required
MS Degree in Physician Assistant studies required
Active State of New Jersey licensure as a Physician Assistant
AAPA Certified Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
1-3 years of experience in healthcare preferred
