Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or able obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting. (must provide proof of card at the time of interview if already obtained)
- Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or able obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting. (must provide proof of card at the time of interview if already obtained)
- One (1) year prior Medical/Surgical nursing experience within in the last 3 years.
- Current ICU nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cerner, CPOE
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- Must be able to interpret Electrocardiogram (EKG) strips
- Current surgical ICU nursing experience
- Current trauma or Burn nursing experience
- Bilingual
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of using medical/surgical equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of staff and a patient population composed of diverse cultures and age groups
- Emergency response skills
- Accurate mathematical skills to calculate medications levels using weight, age, etc.
- Ability to apply the nursing process and utilize technical skills for patient care delivery
- Ability to make decisions under pressure
- Ability to see and hear clearly (including with correction)
- Ability to distinguish regular/high pitched sounds; discriminate source of sound
- Ability to demonstrate rapid physical/mental coordination
- Ability to use both legs, hands, and fingers

A copy of a valid State ID Card or Driver's License which identifies the holder of the ID as a Veteran, may also be attached to the application at time of filing.
If items are not attached, you will not be eligible for Veteran Preference.
