Position Summary
This position will verify patient insurance information. Collect and determine patient deductibles, co-pays and flat rates for uninsured patients. Counsel and collect patient liabilities at either bedside or in the office. Follow up on all ED accounts that have outstanding patient liability. This position will register patients, enter and update all pertinent patient information. Other duties as needed.
2. 3 years of registration experience in an acute care facility in the past 5 years.
3. Knowledge of Government regulations and requirements, managed care contracts and third-party requirements.
4. Knowledge of admissions and insurance verification and authorization processes in the hospital/medical office setting.
5. Knowledge of Federal health care guidelines.
6. Proficiency in micro soft products, data base management, and strong internet usage.
7. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills.
8. High School or Equivalent
Preferred:
1. One year experience as an insurance verifier, or financial counselor in a health care setting OR
2. 6 months experience working in registration or as a financial counselor in an emergency department.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $25.06 Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee�s qualifications and experience.
