Licensed Vocational Nurse I
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) I/II/III provides a variety of administrative, clinical nursing, health education, and outreach services within the community health center. Basic skills for physical assessment include observation, auscultation, palpation and percussion. Basic mental status assessment includes observation of general behavior, appearance and attitude, collection of data relative to sensorium or orientation to time, person and place, and assessment of recall ability. When the LVN notes a problem, complication or abnormality, he/she must notify the Physician or Registered Nursing Supervisor under whose direction the licensee functions.
