Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Unit Associate for the Kahn 3 Medical Step Down Unit at Morristown Medical Center. The 12 hour shifts are varied. 

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

• Functions as the department greeter.
• Greets patients courteously and refers patients needing immediate medical attention to an ED RN.
• Consistently responds to patients/ family's needs in a courteous, positive, and timely manner that reflects confidence and compassion.
• Consistently respects patients right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Consistently demonstrates positive phone etiquette; Places and answers call in a timely manner.
• Adheres to downtime procedures. Calls attending physicians and follows up as directed by physician in a timely manner. Notify appropriate departments of STAT orders. Correctly utilizes paging system.
• Courteously and promptly answers multiple telephone calls, receiving and giving accurate and complete message to appropriate personnel according to hospital and departmental guidelines. Attends unit associative and/ or department meetings and in services as required.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year of college preferred

Minimum Experience:

• 1 year of secretarial experience in a hospital or medical office highly preferred
• Previous Unit Associate experience in a hospital/medical office highly preferred
• Proficiency with computers 
• Excellent customer satisfaction and communication skills required
