Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Secretary/Technician in the Palliative/Hospice Care Unit at Morristown Medical Center. The shift is 7PM - 7:30AM, including every 4th weekend. 

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

• Meets all visitors and staff with a smile and a sincere interest in helping them
• Confidently answers all phone calls with a smile and excellent phone etiquette
• Expedites service needs on behalf of the patient to the appropriate source
• Collaborates effectively with all the team members and other departments to ensure a smoothly running unit and efficiently coordination of services 
• Maintains unit tidiness, stocking of PPE boxes, Flu stations, ensures supply of antibacterial and bleach wipes are present at each station
• Ensures patients and families have a positive patient experience by exhibiting PRIDE behaviors, rounding, collaboration, teamwork and a positive attitude
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have positive customer service skills
• Bath patients, empty Foley catheters and drains, provide mouth care, reposition patients
• Hourly rounding throughout shift to ensure patient and family needs are met

 

Minimum Education:

• HS diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience:

• Previous unit representative experience is preferred
• Previous nursing assistant experience is preferred
• Nursing Assistant certification is preferred 

Qualifications:

• Candidates must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and work in collaboration with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team in a patient/family centered environment.
